The best feature in Podcasts is the search tool, which will now search not just the metadata and descriptions that your favorite podcasters write for each episode, but also Siri transcripts of the actual audio. Not only is it a nicely designed app, it makes a good showcase for how apps from the iPad can be translated to MacOS. If you've ever used the Podcasts app on iPad, you'll recognize the new MacOS version. Until you do that, none of your other media content will show up in Podcasts or TV either. The other slightly confusing thing is that you have to open Music to get the library converted. Make sure you don't delete or move that file, because all the new apps use it (see Apple's help page for details).
One important thing to note: iTunes might be gone, but the monolithic iTunes library in the file system is not. I have checked the issues database at github libagar and submitted my issue there but there doesn't appear to much activity.I no longer have a huge iTunes library to run through the upgrade process, but I did do an in-place upgrade with a small library and ran into no problems at all.
I believe AGAR on Mac OS is built on Cocoa and OpenGL. I'm suspecting a missing or broken package, but I'm just guessing at this point. Since debugging AGAR is beyond the scope of my expertise I am wondering what else might have changed in my High Sierra to Catalina upgrade that I might look at. If I execute an old AGAR 1.5.0 app that I previously built that works fine but any newly compiled app (AGAR 1.5.0 or AGAR 1.6.0) has no key events. So I tried recompiling AGAR 1.5.0 (which was previously ok) and that too does not receive key events. I can see the keys are output in the terminal the AGAR application was started from. I then tried to compile AGAR 1.6.0 and all went well except I receive no key events in any application. I updated to Catalina and updated all brew packages and xcode. On the same system I had until recently had High Sierra and had successfully built AGAR 1.5.0 and was getting key events in all AGAR applications. I'm trying to recompile AGAR (GUI 1.5.0 & 1.6.0) on Mac OSX Catalina.
